Carrier Oils

The term Carrier Oil refers to the solution (usually a vegetable oil) in which an essential oil is diluted. Carrier Oils are fixed oils (not volatile) and often slow the volatility of essential oils when they are added to it. They have a much shorter shelf life than essential oils (except Jojoba Oil) and should be kept refrigerated whenever possible to extend their life. Carrier oils are often referred to as base oils. All of our carrier oils are excellent high-quality pure plant base products suitable for body massage, bath oils and beauty care. They are expeller (cold) pressed except for Grapeseed Oil (which is presently only obtainable in the heat / solvent extracted form). Carrier oils are highly prized for their nourishing, soothing and moisturizing benefits. They each have therapeutic benefits of their own and should be carefully chosen to compliment your blends.
